Part science, part storytelling, part pub night, Nerd Nite is where passionate people take the stage to share the topics they can’t stop thinking about. Every speaker gets 20 minutes to dive into their favourite rabbit hole, whether that’s science, history, design, psychology, art, obscure hobbies, or something wonderfully unexpected.

Historian and film poster collector Shane explores the fascinating world of original cinema posters, from the 1940s to today, revealing how these artworks became reflections of changing cultures, filmmaking, and graphic design.
Better yet, he’ll be bringing pieces from his personal collection, giving you the rare opportunity to see original cinema posters up close.
Bio
Shane holds a Master’s in War Studies from King’s College London and has spent years collecting original film posters from around the world. His passion sits at the intersection of film history, design, and storytelling, uncovering the surprising stories hiding behind some of cinema’s most iconic artwork.

Keith is a multidisciplinary creative whose curiosity has taken him through music, visual art, design, and specialty coffee. Fascinated by the way our senses influence one another, he enjoys exploring the intersections between creativity, perception, and everyday experience.

For anyone who’s ever stared at a wine list and had absolutely no idea what to order. Anyone who’s been handed a wine list at a work dinner and went “uhm red wine”. Anyone who thinks orange wine is made from oranges. Learn how to taste wine, understand what you’re smelling, and figure out what you actually like.
Bio
After 4+ years in the spirits industry, Alicia has tasted 400+ wines across Australia and travelled through wine regions in Australia, New Zealand and Georgia, occasionally turning a holiday into a full-blown wine research project.
She’s WSET Level 1 certified and has a diploma in Rioja wine, because apparently she collects side quests.
